English wine production doubles to 3 million bottles

The number of bottles produced by English wineries jumped from 1.04 million in 2008 to 3.17 million in 2009, according to official figures released by English Wine Producers, the trade body.Though many remember last summer as a washout, the conditions were good for grape growing and substantially better than the previous two years, when many farms were hit by flash floods.
