The Agriculture Department confirmed the existence of the European Grapevine Moth in Ukiah when 13 moths from traps set in 12 acres of Chardonnay near Ukiah tested positive this week.European Grapevine Moth is a pest new to United States and now Mendocino County."The only way this moth got here is on fruit and equipment," Ag Commissioner Tony Linegar said. "If we have it in the county, it is because it was introduced."Devon Jones, Executive Director of the Mendocino County Farm Bureau, said she was "not surprised" that the moth was found in the county.
