Legislature: No wine sales in grocery stores

PLATTSBURGH,(NY) — The State Senate and State Assembly both passed budget proposals that don't include a provision to allow wine sales in grocery and other convenience stores. That drew praise from members of the Last Store on Main Street coalition that opposed the proposal last year and this year. Liquor and Wine Warehouse owner Steve Carpenter said it appears 99-percent certain the proposal has once again been defeated, although the three sides need to negotiate a budget agreement
