Ca' Momi winery buys Napa vineyards

(Bizjournals) - Ca' Momi Napa Valley, a winery owned by three Italian partners, has acquired two prime Napa Valley vineyards, officials said Monday.

That includes a 10.5-acre pinot noir vineyard from Napa winemaker Kent Rasmussen, and a neighboring nine-acre vineyard planted with chardonnay, pinot noir and merlot vines.

Further details weren't immediately available, but CEO Dario De Conti said in a Dec. 2 statement that Ca' Momi has been sourcing grapes from the two vineyards "for some time."

Both vineyards are located in Napa Valley's Carneros region.

The winery, owned by De Conti, Valentina Guolo-Migotto and Stefano Migotto, says it attempts to blend its Italian heritage and wine-making style with Napa Valley wine grapes. It was named one of Wine Business Monthly's Top 10 Hot Small Brands for 2012.
