Wine growers see bleak future without expanded wine sales

New York winegrowers and grocers argued for passage of the Liquor Store Revitalization Act, which would allow wine to be sold in grocery stores, saying the $300 million created in revenue for the state from license fees imposed on stores would produce a "big economic boom" in New York state.
The coalition of groups supporting the act gathered at the Legislative Office Building last week. Meanwhile, groups representing wine store owners and law enforcement continue to speak out against the proposal, saying that the inclusion of wine in grocery stores will increase reckless behavior
