Study: Iowa Wine Now $234 Million Industry

Iowa - A new study shows that the impact of Iowa's wine industry is now more than $234 million. Iowa Wine Growers Association President David Cushman announced results of the survey at a meeting on Friday. The study used 2008 data and is the first study of it's kind on Iowa's wine and vineyard industry. The study showed that Iowa produced 186,700 gallons of wine in 2008, for a total of $7.6 million in retail value of wine sold. The industry supported 1,773 jobs and $50 million in wages.
