Randox unveils fully-automated RX Monaco analyzer for wines
Sep 3, 2013 6(DBR) - Randox Food Diagnostics, a UK-based distributor of Randox drug residue kits, wine testing kits and analyzers, has unveiled its recently validated RX Monaco wine analyzer for use by wineries.
In comparison to the semi-automated RX Monza analyzer, which is currently being used in the wine industry, the RX Monaco analyzer is fully-automated and allows producers to test for all parameters including malic acid, glucose/fructose and ethanol from a single sample.
With no sample preparation required, the system allows producers to reduce time, labor costs and bring the overall cost per test down to circa €0.35.
Larger wineries can also use Monaco as a corroboration application for already running systems.
The company expects the system to have high demand from wineries located in remote locations, which currently send results off-site to central laboratories with high turn-around-time.
Randox Food Diagnostics key account manager Janine McMullan said currently the RX Monza is used in wineries around the world, but the wine industry has producers across a huge variation in scale.
"Therefore our experience means we know semi-automated solutions do not meet everyone's needs and with this validation we are delighted to see the fully automated RX Monaco launched onto the wine market," McMullan added.
"As a supplier trusted by brands as recognisable as Sutter Home and Ernest & Julio Gallo we increase market share year-on-year, and are confident the Monaco will be a successful part of our ever-expanding product range."
