SurePure to purify Namaqua wines

(DBR) - SurePure, a South Africa-based firm involved in turbid liquid photopurification, has entered into an agreement to purify the products of Namaqua Wines.

Under the deal, SurePure will use its patented Turbulator technology to process Namaqua's grape juice concentrate, allowing winemakers to reduce or eliminate addition of chemical preservatives to the wine, which in-turn guarantees the wine's microbiological integrity.

Currently, the two firms are working on the optimal treatment for larger volumes of finish product.

Producing wines in the town of Vredendal in the Western Cape Province allows Namaqua Wines to offer unique wines with unique challenges.

Namaqua Wines production manager Len Knoetze said this diverse and contrasting terroir has bred a sense of adventure and ongoing innovation.

SurePure key account manager Neil Patterson said Namaqua is a real showcase for their technology for the wine industry.
