A flagging overall economy took its toll on Oregon's wine industry in 2009, ending a 15-year string of increasing case sales and overall dollar values.
Case sales of Oregon wine fell by five percent from 2008 levels, from about 1.75 million to 1.66 million, while total dollars realized from those sales dipped 16 percent, from about $240 million in 2008 to just over $201 million last year, according to the newly released 2009 Oregon vineyard and winery report.
