Margrit Mondavi, Vice President of Cultural Affairs at the winery, and Genevieve Janssens, Director of Winemaking, hosted a public toast to celebrate Robert and his 100th. All guests received a glass of Robert Mondavi Winery Fume Blanc, a commemorative printed booklet and a special “Cent’anni” cupcake crafted with Robert Mondavi Winery Fume Blanc from local favorite Kara’s Cupcakes.
Robert Mondavi died May 16th, 2008 and is well known for his role as one of the world's leading innovators, producers and marketers of California wine.
Following the toast and in honor of Mr. Mondavi and his love of the To Kalon Vineyard, the winery renamed one of the best blocks of the vineyard, ‘Robert’s Block,’ in a small private ceremony.
