AU: Peter Slipper accused of using Cabcharges for a wine tour

(News) - FORMER speaker Peter Slipper's fondness for fine wine - allegedly at taxpayer expense may see him face jail if found guilty of offences with the Australian Federal Police alleging he used taxpayer-funded Cabcharge vouchers to tour Canberra wineries. Documents filed in the ACT Magistrates Court allege Mr Slipper spent $337 on one trip in January 2010 to travel from Parliament House to some of the Australian capital's best wineries including Clonakilla, whose award-winning Shiraz Viognier retails for $110.
