US: No one’s busting wine-shop doors on Black Friday

(MarketWatch) - The day after Thanksgiving, a.k.a. Black Friday, is the most infamous day of the year on the retail calendar. I’ve never ventured to shop on Black Friday but have occasionally wondered what I was missing. Not in the way of electronics or toys — but bottles of wine. Where there perhaps Black Friday Specials on First Growth Bordeaux?
I contacted Chris Adams, president of Sherry Lehmann, a big purveyor of Bordeaux in Manhattan and asked: What happened on the day after Thanksgiving in his store? Was he offering any particularly great deals on wine, i.e. Bordeaux? He wasn’t.
