(StlToday) - Healthy women who take a natural compound found in red wine in supplement form might want to hit the bottle instead.
And even then, a study at Washington University has found drinking that recommended glass of red wine a day might be for naught — at least as far as health benefits go.
The study found that resveratrol, the compound found in red wine, does not appear to reduce the risk of heart disease, improve insulin sensitivity or increase longevity in healthy women, at least when taken in supplement form.
