(Wines&Vines) - “It’s not a case club; it’s not new, but it’s a novel idea.” That’s the way Peter D. Oldak, owner of Jewell Towne Vineyards in South Hampton describes his Community Supported Winery (CSW) program, which recently completed its first season of operation. Consumers who sign up for the program commit themselves to buying two bottles of Jewell Towne wine selected by Oldak each week. A full membership for 18 weeks costs $350 and is payable by check at the time of sign-up. Also available are half memberships at $180, for which the commitment is to buy one bottle weekly for 18 weeks.
