DrinksInt) - The Napa Valley Vintners Association (NVVA) has announced that Brazil has recognised the famous Californian wine producing region has Geographical Indication (GI) status.
The recognition will protect the premium wine region from misuse of its name in that country.
NVV executive director Linda Reiff said: "This is another important milestone for our trade group in protecting our appellation's name from fraudulent use in yet another high-profile, emerging wine market.
