(AgraNet) - China's Alcoholic Drinks Association has asked the country's ministry of commerce to investigate whether the EU is dumping wine onto the Chinese market, as well as providing subsidies.
Wine exports from the EU to China have increased sharply in recent years, reaching 169 million litres in 2011, compared with 35.9ml in 2008. "This equates to a 67.7% year-on-year increase," Wang Zuming, secretary of the association's wine subcommittee, was quoted as saying. "The overall market share of EU imports has risen to 14.32% from 4.94%," he noted.
