(ABC) - A Chinese businessman has invested $5 million in a South Australian winery - the latest in a series of investments by Chinese companies.
The Gemtree family winery in McLaren Vale has confirmed the deal, which is still going through approval with Chinese Government departments.
Gemtree's Andrew Buttery says the family winery needed to find a wealthy partner or consider closing.
"The new Chinese partner is Yuon Gang Song," Mr Buttery said.
"He's a very successful businessman who's done well in real estate and manufacturing.
