US: Heat Warnings for Vineyard Workers

(Wines&Vines) - Whether you call it “extreme weather” or climate change, summer heat is on in vineyards across North America. Cal/OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) is again cautioning employers of farm laborers to protect their workers from heat-related illness. A community “Train-the-Trainer” class is scheduled for July 24 in Fresno. Limited to 20 participants, the free course will teach attendees to lead workshops for fellow workers using a community training guide, and to teach others about heat illness, its prevention and employer responsibilities.
