(NapaValleyRegister) - A Rutherford winery’s proposal to double production left two wine industry luminaries at odds last week before the Napa County Planning Commission, while raising questions about the future viability of the county’s long-standing rule that Napa wine be made with 75 percent Napa grapes.
Raymond Vineyards asked the commission to sign off on its plans to increase wine production from 750,000 gallons to 1.5 million gallons annually. After hearing public testimony on the proposal June 20, the commission delayed making a decision until its next meeting in July.
