UK beer and wine sectors set for £1.4bn summer sales boost, reveals new research

(TalkingRetail) - British drinkers are set to knock back around 330 million more pints of beer and more than 67 million more litres of wine if the sun shines over the summer.
New findings from Opinium Research show nearly three in 10 Brits (27%) drink more alcohol when the weather gets warmer and 40% of UK adults tend to drink at special occasions, such as weddings, which are held more often in the summer
With a weekend of hot weather ahead, new findings from Opinium Research reveal that for 13.5 million people, this means lapping up the sunshine with a bottle of beer or glass of wine in hand.
