(Vancouversun) - Rookie B.C. MP Dan Albas finds his martial arts expertise handy in Parliament.
Albas, 35, says his quarter-century of training helped him ignore distractions and heckling to zero in on objectives like the passage of Bill C-311, a private member’s bill with all-party support that would exempt wine from a prohibition-era ban on interprovincial movement in liquor without the authorization of provincial liquor commissions.
The MP for Okanagan-Coquihalla said small wine producers and wine-lovers across Canada will appreciate his fight to provide consumers with direct access to some of the high-quality wine produced in provinces such as B.C., Ontario, Quebec and Nova Scotia.
