Could red wine pill protect against heart disease, diabetes and cancer?

(Lifestyle) - The much-touted health benefits of drinking a glass of red wine every day mean many people opt for it as their tipple of choice. Now scientists have confirmed they are a step closer to creating a pill which harnesses the benefits of red wine's most powerful health-boosting ingredient, resveratrol. A pill containing the chemical, which is found in grape skins, could be taken daily as a preventative measure against conditions such as cancer, heart disease and diabetes. One of the difficulties in using the chemical is that it would take hundreds of bottles of red wine to produce just less than an ounce of resveratrol.
