Treasury Wine goes upmarket in the UK

(WAtoday) - TREASURY Wine Estates has sharpened its focus on premium wines in the crucial British market.
It has created a new fine-wine team that will push wines priced above £15 ($A24) to bars and luxury department stores, as well as introduce a range of smaller regional wines not widely available before in the market.
The fresh investment comes as Treasury Wine looks to increase sales at higher price points and move away from entry-level wines that face stiff competition from cheap wine flooding the market and bargain-basement private-label wine offered by supermarkets such as Coles and Woolworths.
