(Pressdemocrat) - K-J honored for use of renewable energy
Jackson Family Wines and its largest winery, Kendall-Jackson, received a Green Power Leadership Award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for its efforts to address climate change by purchasing renewable energy.
This year, Kendall-Jackson bought 30 million kilowatt hours of renewable energy certificates (RECs), equal to 130 percent of the Santa Rosa company’s annual electricity usage across its operations, including vineyards, wineries, offices and warehouses. The certificates allow the company to claim that renewable energy was produced to meet its electricity demands.
