Chile calls on Hong Kong to solve fake wine mystery

(MonstersandCritics) - The Chilean consulate in Hong Kong has called on police to solve a mystery in which 100 crates of fake wine were found abandoned in the city, a news report said Friday.
Consul-general Mario Ignacio Artaza told the Hong Kong Standard newspaper that he feared for the reputation of his country's wine industry, as 2,000 of the 10,000 bottles of coloured water carried labels claiming to be from the Cono Sur vineyard in Chile.
'We want the police to find out as we want to protect the consumer as well as Chile and its companies which are exporting to Hong Kong,' he said.
Artaza contacted police after reading reports about the bottles which just appeared on two streets in the city on November 7.
