That's the analogy I posited last week while out with some friends in the wine business.
Now, before any oenophiles get their grapes in a bunch, let me assure everyone: I love wine and I generally don't subscribe to the wine-vs.-beer debates I see sometimes. Both beverages have a place on everyone's table.
The reason for my analogy was that one person in the group was decrying Big Wine for the failure of some smaller vineyards. While I didn't realize this, apparently some tiny but well-respected vintners with unique terroirs are under siege because they can't compete with larger winemakers.
