Wine grape growers are already thinking about how to tackle disease, five months out from harvest.
At Tumbarumba in south-west NSW, growers are looking at trying to improve the health of the soils after a disastrous season with powdery mildew and botrytis. (buh-TRY-tuhs)
Cathy Gairn, from the Tumbarumba Vignerons Association, says the region can't afford to see any more growers leave the industry.
"We're still trying to get people to come and look at the region," he said.
"They're always saying that we need larger volumes of fruit for the big companies to come in.
