US: Pennsylvania State wineries seek respect

NORTH EAST, Pa. - Vineyards perched on hillsides overlooking Lake Erie lie at the heart of the second-largest grape-growing region in the United States.
But few highbrow wine lovers mention the region in the same breath as the Napa Valley, Tuscany, or Bordeaux.
More than four decades after Pennsylvania's first wineries opened in this corner of the state, the region's wines and wineries continue to fight for respect and a place on store shelves.
