Four related bills under consideration in the state House would lift Pennsylvania's current law that bans receiving out-of-state shipments from wine producers, retailers and Internet companies.
WHY THE CHANGE: You're on vacation in California's wine country and you'd like the vineyard to ship, say, a half-dozen bottles to your home. But currently, that's not possible.
WHAT'S PROPOSED: One bill is sponsored by state Rep. Curt Sonney, of Harborcreek Township, R-4th Dist., whose proposal would allow out-of-state shipments from those who get a direct wine-shipper's license from the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board.
