US: Hess buys Sonoma pinot specialist MacPhail Family Wines

MacPhail Family Wines, a highly-regarded pinot noir specialist in the Russian River Valley, has been acquired by the Napa-based Hess Collection.
Financial terms were not disclosed, but the deal included the MacPhail brand as well as existing inventory. The winery facility in Healdsburg was not included.
MacPhail produces about 4,000 cases annually with prices ranging from $40 to $60 a bottle.
