US: Battle over direct wine shipments heats up

States continue to open their borders to direct-to-consumer wine shipments, while a federal proposal to roll back direct shipments is currently stalled in the U.S. Senate, according to Free The Grapes, a wine advocacy group.
HR 1161, which critics say will make it harder to ship wine directly to consumers in other states, has 50 co-sponsors in the House but no one has stepped forward to sponsor it in the Senate.
