Bulgarian wine production has decreased by 16 per cent in 2010 as, news website investor.bg reported on June 15 2011, citing a winery union report presented to Cabinet.
The general condition of vineyards in the country in 2010 has been described as deteriorating, and a main cause for the downfall of output is said to be the varying weather patterns and changing climate, the report said.
The amount of grapes processed in 2010 stood at about 148 454 tons, from which about 103 million litres of wine was produced.
