US, Mexico closer to bottling Foster's

THE world's biggest brewer could green-light a $9 billion takeover of flagship Australian brand Foster's as early as this morning.
Grupo Modelo SAB de CV was to hold a board meeting in Mexico City overnight, Australian time, in which it was expected to seek board support from its major shareholder to launch a bid.
Should Modelo - the manufacturer of Corona - get the go-ahead, it is believed it will partner with a fellow mega-brewer, the US-Canadian group Molson Coors.
