Winemakers say a report released by the Cancer Council linking even a small amount of alcohol to the disease is likely to hurt the wine industry.
The report, released earlier this week, suggests that any amount of alcohol increases the risk of cancer.
Steven Strachan from the Winemakers Federation of Australia says the campaign could be damaging to Western Australia's south-west wine industry, which employs thousands of people and is one of the region's biggest drawcards for visitors.
