US: Don't mess with success of N.Y. wine industry

One of the few economic success stories in New York has been the wine industry. It has enjoyed phenomenal growth and prosperity. New wineries are sprouting up everywhere. This has fostered growth in tourism and helps create jobs and tax revenue.
That's what we want, right? Not according to the big-box groceries and some of the wineries. They want to change the law, thus allowing wine to be sold in supermarkets and convenience stores. They hope to create even more growth in wine sales and generate more tax dollars.
