Many Oklahoma wineries and vineyards have joined together creating the Oklahoma Grape Industry Council (OGIC). The OGIC is centered around statewide local groups, which have existed for years and focus primarily on viticulture – the growing of quality wine grapes. Gene Clifton of Canadian River Vineyards and Winery, who has been involved in the industry since the mid-70s, will be the interim head of the organization as it is formed.
