Singer-songwriter Chris de Burgh is set to become the latest well-known figure to sell off part of his wine collection at auction. Best-known for his rendition of 1986 number one The Lady in Red, the Irish-based performer is selling 320 bottles and 84 magnums at Christie’s in London next month.The lots are principally red wine because, in de Burgh’s words, ‘my wife, daughter and I much prefer to drink white’.
