Growing NC wine industry marks opening of 100th winery with Gov. Perdue's vineyard visit

(AP) — Gov. Beverly Perdue is celebrating North Carolina's growing wine industry at the opening of the state's 100th winery.Perdue visits Cauble Creek Vineyards in Salisbury on Thursday. Others are planning to open in the months ahead. The number of vineyards has quadrupled in less than a decade.
Boosters say North Carolina now ranks seventh in the country for wine production.
