B.C. wineries have come a long way since their days of providing the local market with fortified plonk.
But a variety of forces are at work that could put a cork on growth in the industry, says a research paper released Thursday by two Simon Fraser University scholars.
The industry suffers "from a lack of organization, co-ordination, and policy foresight," concludes The Wine Industry in British Columbia: A Closed Wine But Ready for Harvest.
