Seaside, CA -- Water -- its availability and its quality -- took center stage at the sixth annual Sustainable Ag Expo, held this week on the Monterey Peninsula. There were also sessions about nutrient budgets, social media and labor regulations at the expo, organized by the Central Coast Vineyard Team. But without water, one of the biggest challenges for California agriculture, those subjects lose much of their urgency. “Water is big,” said Kris O’Connor, executive director of the Central Coast Vineyard Team (CCVT). “It seemed irresponsible not to address water.”
