US Wine Category Showing Signs of Improvement - Constellation

Constellation Brands, Inc. the world's leading wine company, is expecting growth in US wine consumption as the 21 to 32 year old age group increases. Speaking at an investor conference, Bob Ryder, chief financial officer, said the company has noticed signs of improvement in the US wine category in 2010.The US wine category has grown annually on average by 3 per cent over the last ten years though the market slowed in 2008-2009 due to the economic crisis. Mr Ryder said: “The goods news is as 2010 progresses the US wine category continues to show signs of improvement.” Mr Ryder went on to say that the company anticipates further growth in wine consumption as the 21 to 32 age group is expected to increase by 20 million over the next five years.
