Va Tech wins $3.8M grape, wine grant

(AP) - Virginia Tech's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences has been awarded a $3.8 million grant to lead a multistate effort to enhance East Coast grape and wine production.The funding is from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Institute of Food and Agriculture. The project director is Tony Wolf, a professor of viticulture. According to Wolf, the five-year project aims to create, refine and encourage industry adoption of grape and wine production practices intended to create a robust and sustainable grape and wine industry.
