BioMass Packaging has introduced to wineries an option of developing completely compostable waste streams using paper and boxes made with the highest level of post-consumer recycled content along with bio-based products. Based in Richmond, BioMass Packaging founder Steve Levine of Napa said the time is right for the wine industry to start looking at his products.
“Wineries have been on the cutting edge of green-based business, including sustainable farming and basic production techniques. They have been aggressive with solar power systems and organic farming. It only makes sense for them to incorporate bio-based products into their packaging and hospitality systems.,” Levine said.
