Polish tastes are becoming more sophisticated, according to a survey which shows the number of people drinking wine has outstripped the number drinking vodka for the first time. Research into the drinking habits of Poles by CBOS, the consumer research company, found that 21 per cent of drinkers chose wine while only 17 per cent opted for the vodka, still regarded as the Polish national drink.
